Image Of The Year

It's been a crazy busy year for the business. I hate to think how many shots I've taken this year covering events, live music, fashion and extreme sports. The variety of the stuff I'm booked for keeps my job super interesting and no two days are ever the same.

I decided for a bit of end of year fun to try and choose my image of the year. It had to be one I'd taken in 2024 and didn't necessarily need to be my best technical image but more my favourite image overall.

It's been so hard to choose but I think I'm there....... the image I've chosen is this one :

Creeper, Wembley Arena, October 2024.

It's my favourite image for so many reasons. Firtsly, it's of Will Gould lead singer of Creeper (who happen to be one of my favourite bands). I got to shoot their huge Wembley Arena show this autumn. It didnt look like it was going to happen and then at 5am on the day of the gig Jac from Noizze messaged to say we were on and I needed to get to London for 6pm. My first time shooting at Wembley, shooting one of my favourite bands who just so happened to be having a truly incredible 2024 themselves.

I shot the show, jumped in the car and got back to West Wales around 3am (and yes I did start my edits as soon as I got home ha ha)

I love this image because although its from a live show it almost feels like a studio shoot. I love the look in Will's eye and just the overall mood and atmosphere of the shot captures the essence of the band right now. It made it onto the Noizze website and was shared by a few other publications. I love shooting live music amongst all the crazy things I get booked to shoot.

This will be my last blog before Christmas, so thanks to everyone who hired me this year. Thanks to all the incredible artists I've had the joy to work with.

Thanks to all who have supported my small business and who have appreciated that you can get way more from paid photography than you can from a iphone.

Have a great break if you're getting one, and I'll see you all in 2025

David
